Ka mahi - well done!

Check out this cool Origami Daffodil that Chelleze made today!

A great piece of research from Lucy Harrison.
Sophie Pascoe
-Born 1993
-she is a famous Paralympic swimmer
-she has won a total of 15 Olympic medals
Sophie Pascoe’s life:
Sophie was two years old when her legs got caught in the blades of a lawnmower that her father was driving. The doctors saved her right leg but her left leg got amputated. At first, Sophie struggled with swimming because she couldn’t keep up with the other kids. Her mum got her private swimming lessons to help. Later in the year, she raced in the school swimming races and she bet all her classmates! Sophie went on to compete in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics- she was only 15 years old then! In Sophie’s first Paralympics, she won three gold medals and one silver. Sophie is a world champion and so far, she has won nine gold medals!
Poem About Water
Water is a wonderful beast
It is a relief from long workouts
A world of play for young children
A comforting warmth from the harsh winter
an escape for the mind
And most importantly the sole habitat for marine life
But our water is dying
It's being ravished by rubbish and its beauty has been riddled with chemicals
But still our small minds can't seem to comprehend what will happen if we carry on in this way
Water is a wonderful beast but if we don't protect it humans will cease to exist.
